Family vacay

M&R bought us a vacation for christmas this year, to a really neat place in Austin. Besides the rundown of a national lampoons vacation, it was a really wonderful time together -The trip had to be documented somehow... We will someday laugh at all the crazy things...

1. Started out the trip at Ikea, left my phone in the bathroom.
Recovery: It was picked up, and turned in for me...

We settled into the hotel and the girls favorite thing was the large jacuzzi bath, the adults played cards and the kids slept. Rain was in the forecast for the next day so...

2. Due to rain we went to the tops golf place. It's really neat. Three flights of automated Golfing. We were in the basement. When all of the sudden we saw an "updraft" that unfortunately looked like a tornado, not only to us but to everyone around us. People were grabbing their children and running to the middle of the hallway. As my brain was registering the people running, M was telling the kids to get under the table. K was rounding up the boys saying.. It looks like a tornado in her most calm voice. When I proceed to shove myself and the children under the table. Calmly, K, says I think we need to go to the bathrooms. It was all over in about 5 minutes, but as usual my brain shut off in crisis, and emotions were high.  The three men however stood outside in awe as they watched large debris funnel around in the distance.

This instance was the talking point for the rest of the trip wether the men responded appropriately and how the shuffleboard table would have never been enough to protect us from the walls of glass. Morale of the story... In crisis look to K!

3. After the downpour we manage to run to the vehicles and get out to our nearest sub shop for lunch. I gouged my head on K's hatch cursing loudly in front of all the children. No blood, but it sure did hurt. After an ice pack and a small headache things were back to normal.

4. We all wore our emotions down with some naps at the hotel and then decided to go to a local park. We decided to go to the free one. It was the closest one. It was really nice Had a great playground and walking trail. Unfortunately by the time we got back to the car M's window was busted in her "coupon" wallet was stolen out of the front. FORTUNATELY the wallet in the back seat was not confiscated nor was the other three wallets in the other vehicle. Which was another small miracle because B had left all three in the middle console out in the open. K had gone back to the car to get her sunglasses, which was probably one of the 5 times the sun had poked its head out that day and when she noticed they were left out, she hid them. THANKFULLY. Once again K saved the day by hiding the wallets.

5. The P got a nail in the tire on the way home, but other than that it was a really great trip. No major catastrophes on the way home we stopped by an arcade and lazer tag place. The kids loved it.

Something tells me however we wont be headed back to austin on our next vacation.

This was r face when she realized the vacation was over. That says it all!

We went to a local restaurant that overlooked the use to be lake Travis
