Sometimes distance is the things that defines a friendship. The further you are away and the more time that has passed the further you grow apart. But sometimes, friendships are marked by bonds of the heart. The type of bond found in the gracious savior. Like how in romans it says that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ... I believe that sometimes we experience that kind of friendship we have with our saviour with others as well...
How refreshing it is to be with those who know you, adapt and change with you, forgive you, and believe that at the core you are the same friend that they fell in love with... (not guy girl love - sister love)
Things will never be the same, we will always be the temporal beings moving forward down a rode that leads to home, but it's nice to walk that road together moving and changing..
Anyway.
Spent the weekend with Val, and it was a good visit. One of our favorite parts was visiting their church. Its very small, with one look around the place I would think it would be possible to know everyone. The songs were refreshing wordy jazzed up hymns. Songs that have power and meaning that point to the theology of a gracious savior that we will be connected to with hardship, non-fame and the blessing of friendship with Jesus.
One thing I like about visiting the Todd's is that they are entertainers. They believe that guests should be treated like kings and queens. Tasty food, fun, and games are always a part of our fun with them.
And one last thing... I will never forget pulling up and seeing little Val pop out of the house with a 5 month baby in her hand. Wow... This was very surreal... and very fun.

Loved reading this blog, your thoughts about your trip and friendships, seeing the pics of you and Val, and all the kids together. LOVE the hymn...a new favorite.
I also love what you've done with the background of your blog, with Rivs and Lucy on the sides. Don't know how you did it, but absolutely amazing!
